Why do you do what you do?

Having a real passion for fashion and styling ladies

How did you get into your field?

Having had 20 years in property at sales director level and having a young family, the corporate lifestyle became too demanding, particularly after my second daughter was born with a few health issues.

I set up FF selling handbags and jewellery at corporate outlets, charity events and peoples houses. It gave me the flexibility to be able to work in the evening once my husband was home from work. I was amazed how quickly my idea grew into a good business after only 12 months. More and more people were booking parties and it quickly became apart a shop was the next step

What drives you?

Sales, sales, sales, it's in the blood and all i have done from leaving school at 16. Its also amazingly satisfying dressing ladies and helping them achieve a look they would have never tried before.

What's your greatest success story?

Opening in a recession and still being here after three years! It was a complete gamble as to whether a higher profile shop would stand the test of time in a small town. We knew we couldn't survive on just the existing customers we had from party plan, but the news spread far and wide and we have customers from all over the country now.

What's the most important lesson you've learnt while building your business?

Whatever you do, you are limited by the skill set your company has on tap. You can only grow a business as far as your skills go. Make the most of your employees' strengths. Employ experts for the things you can’t do, or start on training yourselves!
