The Kings Head, Kettlewell

The Kings Head in Kettlewell is a traditional, family run pub in the picturesque village of Kettlewell in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

What do you do?

We strive to provide excellent food, drink and accommodation in the heart of the Dales.

Why do you do what you do?

It has been my life long ambition to own my own eatery. I have always had a genuine passion for food.

How did you get into your field?

I always wanted to be a chef from a very young age. I trained at The Angel at Hetton, after which my passion and drive led me to become a head chef at the age of 21. After being a shareholder at The Craven Heifer the natural step was to achieve soul ownership of my own business.

What drives you?

The opportunity to try fresh ideas and work with seasonal ingredients. I love having the opportunity to share my passion for food with others. Ultimately, what drives me is my family; and them proud of what we, as a family, have accomplished.

What's your greatest success story?

We are proud to have been placed in The Top 10 pubs in The Sunday Times Ultimate 100 Hotels 2014.

What's the most important lesson you've learnt while building your business?
