Anne Bates
Tax Manager
Anne started out studying agriculture and, after completing a PhD on the effect of trace elements on sheep, decided that there was very little scope for variety in future work so changed direction completely to work in tax. She has done this for more than 20 years, including a period at Arthur Anderson, the last 12 of these years being at Pearson & Associates.
Outside work Anne enjoys reading and buys more books than she has time to read. She occasionally goes to see Blackburn Rovers play, as the rest of the family are season ticket holders and is currently trying to learn how to speak French and play the flute.
Anne's top tip for business owners
"Remember you will have to pay tax on your profits so make sure you make plans to ensure money is available."
